Hello, everyone. Greetings from Hong Kong. I made it into town. The city is really modern. I was surprised. There are walkways connection most of the major buildings. A few places you need to descend to street level to move from building to building but for the most part, you can use the elevated walkway. There is a tram that takes you to Victoria's Peak. The rail car inclines at a whopping 27 degrees but it actually feels like you are tilted back about 45. I took pictures. Maybe one day I can even post them.
Today I did a little shopping. Got the kids some silk PJ's... but don't tell them. I want them to be surprised when I send them home. Can't say what else I bought.
They have a music store at Fleet Landing. They have a guitar in there that I absolutely fell in love with. Well, almost. I really want a black acoustic/electric cutaway guitar. What they had in there was a blond wood acoustic electric from Martin Guitar model DXME but I think the one I want is Martin Guitar model DCXE X Series Cutaway Black. Haven't heard that model but if it's anything like the blond one, I think that's the winner. Sounds much better than the Takamine guitar I was looking at last year. It felt better, too. :-)
Well, we have a few days left in Hong Kong. I am going to stop by the music store once more and then grab a bite to eat and head back to the ship. The water taxi takes about 35 minutes. For those of you counting the saga of
OPERATION ENDURING UNCERTAINTY
there are approximately 86 days remaining.
Until next time...
