(Whistle blows) Underway. Shift colors.
Thus begins another at sea period for the USS Carl Vinson. We will be at sea for training exercises in preparation for our upcoming deployment next year which will be my 5th and final deployment of my naval career. After the deployment I will be transferring to shore duty where I will spend the remainder of my time in the navy. With each underway it gets harder and harder to leave Nannette and the girls. Soon I will be done with this canoe club and I can finally tell the girls that I will not be going away on deployment ever again.
Anyway, that's about it for now. I will be posting again the next time I get the inkling to do so or if something interesting happens.
