Well, here we are sitting in Singapore on a lovely Tuesday afternoon. I got to leave the ship yesterday but only because I was able to find a liberty buddy after the one I had lined up decided to dump me. We took the MRT (subway) to downtown Singapore and walked around in the blazing sun all day. We must have put at least 15 miles (ok, what's that in kilometers?) on our shoes. I was so tired when I got back that all I did was shower and then climb into bed. It was bad. But, in all that walking, we got to see lots of things and had a nice dinner at a place called "Brewerkz". Had to try their Irish red ale. It was quite yummy. As soon as I can upload some pictures, they'll be posted, or at least a link to them, to this site. Today was no different from yesterday. The liberty buddy I had made plans with to hit the town with today ditched me so I had to find someone that also didn't have a liberty buddy to see if they wanted to go out. Well, I found someone right before I was going to give up. We came over to the pitiful excuse for a base they have here in Sembwang (sp?) and here I am. He's over at the club having something to eat and I wanted to do my laundry and make a phone call to Nannette. Well, my phone cards won't work over here and the line for laundry was so long that I'd be better off buying new underwear at the NEX even though it took me 30 minutes to get through the checkout line. It's been a wonderful day here, let me tell you...
Anyway, for anyone reading this post, that's what's been going on out here. Where we go from here is classified and I can't say until we're there. But it's hot and sandy over there.
