Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, I'm free at last.
Well, at least free from the heat of the middle east and the Carl Vinson. I was sent home early so I could execute my PCS orders to IMF Bangor. If I hadn't left early, I would have lost some leave time between duty stations. It's good to be home. Let me say that again. It's good to be home. With any luck, we'll be going camping fairly soon and having some family fun. Our 4th of July was really nice up here. There were fireworks each night of the long weekend and we even set some off ourselves. Had you asked me a month ago, I would have never believed that I'd spend the holiday weekend here at home with Nannette.
Other than that, I've just been enjoying being home with Nannette and the girls. I disassembled a chair that was in much need of repair and sanded it down to bare wood. Next step will be to reassemble said chair and apply a fresh stain to match the bookshelf or the table that I stained before the cruise. Pics will follow.
Until later....
